Our story begins with Trista Soave, a lifelong food lover who saw something special in Annona Gourmet, Minnesota's original bulk olive oil and vinegar shop. When founder Jean Rarick was ready to retire after 15 years, Trista didn't just take over a business. She began reimagining what a neighborhood culinary destination could be.

The name Curiouser Foods comes from Alice’s famous exclamation “curiouser and curiouser” in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland—a story about following curiosity into unexpected discovery. That spirit guides everything we do. Like Alice stepping into a new world, we invite our customers to explore unfamiliar ingredients, question everyday cooking routines, and discover the joy of creating something wonderful from simple, thoughtfully sourced foods.

Today, Curiouser Foods is a vibrant retail shop and café nestled in Northeast Minneapolis, offering meticulously sourced bulk olive oils, vinegars, herbs, spices, and medicinal mushrooms, alongside a café that puts those same ingredients on full, delicious display. We're a place where you can taste before you buy, ask questions without judgment, and leave feeling inspired rather than overwhelmed.
